Julia Spiri Anything Goes with a Twist of Venice Challenge DT Post

This week over at Julia Spiri we have another great Anything Goes with a twist challenge. This time the theme is Venice. If you haven't seen them already then check out her Venice Collection- they are just divine!!

For my card I worked with Venice- such a lovely image to colour and great that I didn't have to come up with a background for it! I used a combination of copics and promarkers, and used up some scraps of patterned paper from my stash to mount and embellish.

We love to see your projects on each challenge so play along if you can. You can also follow the Facebook Fan Page and share any projects there and generally chat with us about all things Julia.

Happy crafting!

Valentine Teddy by MoonFlower

Morning folks! Hope you are all well on this dreary Thursday. I am as I have a day off work to spend with my daughter and a day of decorating her new dolls house beckons for us- should be fun. In the meantime though I am just stopping by to share a card I have made using the MoonFlower image Valentine Teddy. I think she's adorable and wanted to show she's suitable for more than just Valentines Day.

I love MoonFlower images. They are so unique don't you think? Andreia ( the artist) send regular freebies so if you love the digis too then hop to the blog and subscribe by email and you can get them too. There's also a Facebook Page where you can share your creations.

Captain Awesome by Visible Image

Happy Monday morning folks! Well, ok for some of you it may not be if you are back to work after a nice Valentines weekend, but I have a rare day off today so it's definitely a happy one for me. If you are doing battle with the workplace today then hopefully my card offering will brighten your day!

I love love love stamps by Visible Image. They are so different and fresh and great to work with as such good quality. I have several sets that haven't as yet been inked ( shocking I know!)so I am on a mission to use them as I have some of their new releases arriving soon too ( check them out on the website- they are awesome!). Talking of awesome- the stamp set I used for my card is Captain Awesome. Brilliant image for boys cards, which I always struggle with.

To create my background I used Dylusion sprays on watercolour card. Once dry I spritzed through a star mask with water to give a bleached effect. The main imaged were stamped and fussy cut, and I made the laser effect with coloured texture paste and a mask which I sprinkled glitter over when wet to add dimension. To finish off I inked through a third mask to give the circles and splats, stamped the sentiment and stuck the images on. Really simple to do yet very effective I think.

Heaven's Melody by MoonFlower

Morning folks! It's time for me to share another creation for MoonFlower and this month I have worked with the simply stunning Heaven's Melody. I coloured her with copics and kept the card clean and simple with just a single dove embellishment and die cut sympathy sentiment. Sympathy cards are always so hard to do, but this image is perfect I think, don't you?

We are currently having a DT call over on our Facebook Fan Page so if you would like to join us on the team why not apply? We are looking for two new members.

If you head over to the blog and subscribe by email there is a monthly freebie delivered straight to your in box so do sign up- you won't regret it!

A Little Bit of Magick with Visible Image

I've been so busy with digi image DT work lately that I have had little time for getting inky, but today saw my younger sister Laura turn a year older and I wanted to make her something extra special. She is a keen crafter too and loves splashing paint and ink around, so I am hoping she appreciates that I ended up with purple fingers especially for her!

I absolutely adore Visible Image stamps and have a large collection, many of which have yet to be inked. This one was no exception. I had to buy it when I saw it as I have a passion for all things mythical, especially dragons! The wizard is called Myrddin and you can find the set here. The dragon is from another set in the collection, Orin Destiny

To create the sky I used a mask for the moon and shaded lilac and dusty concord distress inks. I added a castle using a mask from Splodge Away, and black soot ink, and stamped the dragon above it. On separate watercolour card I stamped the other elements, coloured them with distress pens, and added some shimmer to the wizards cloak with twinkling H20's. I fussy cut them out and mounted on the main image, adding some dimension by using foam pads so that elements stand out and it's not totally flat.

I am so pleased with the way it turned out that I wanted to keep it myself but Laura is worth it so I stayed strong and popped it in the post for her like a good sister!

Happy birthday sis!

Karleigh Sue Main Ingredient

Before I say anything about today's card I should probably point out that this is a retired image from Karleigh Sue so no longer available, but I actually printed it last year and never got around to mounting it on a card so thought it was about time I did!

I wanted to create a card that wasn't too pink and frilly , so opted for more male colours on this one. She is coloured in copics, and mat and layered using black card and coordinating papers from my stash.

Julia Spiri 'Love is in the Air' Challenge DT Post

Gosh can you believe it's February already?! Time to start thinking of love and romance as Valentines day approaches, and so the new challenge at Julia Spiri is Anything Goes with a twist of 'Love is in the Air'.

Julia's new collection of digis are just perfect for the challenge. You can find them here. There's also 30% off the whole set so do take a look if you like a bargain!  I have worked with the adorable image The First Kiss. So sweet!

We'd love to see your entries. You don't need to use a Spiri image but of course we love it when you do. There is also a Facebook Fan Page where lots of fun occurs if you are a Facebook user. You can hit the join button here.

I hope February is filled with love in some form or other for all of you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Karleigh Sue New Facebook Challenge DT Post

Hiya folks. Don't know if you've heard but the Karleigh Sue challenges have moved and our monthly challenge is now being hosted on our Facebook Fan Page. This month the theme is Create Your Own Background, and you can find the challenge here

For my card I used Cherry Bomb, coloured with copics and fussy cut. To create my background I used a kids spin art machine ( my latest crafty toy and SO much fun!), with lots of glue and glitter to make a firework effect. The backing paper is actually a wallpaper sample that lent itself perfectly to the project- I do love a bit or recycling!

I hand stamped the sentiment and mat and layered the elements on mirror card to really make it pop to complete the look.

Hope you can stop by and enter a project of your own. We'd love to see you there.

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge over at Not Just Cards and as always theme is Anything Goes.

This month I have worked with Soap Box Derby Boy from our sponsor Limited Runs.

I opted to make a card as I always seem to focus on cards for girls and don't have enough male cards in my stock, but you can enter any projects of your choosing.

Hope to see you all joining in.

Happy crafting
