Tree of Life by Visible Image

Today's share is a card using the some great nature based stamps from Visible Image . I don't know about you, but getting outside and feeling close to nature really helps lift my spirits, allows me time and space to reflect and gives me a real sense of inner peace. This card was made to reflect that.

I started with a background created by mopping up distress oxides. They make for the perfect stormy sky don't you think? So much texture- yummy!

When dry, I used my 6" gelli plate and the strobes stencil to create a sunburst effect, by using the plate as a stamp once I had brayered paint through it.

I used a die cut circle and sponged oxide inks on to create a sun, and stamped and heat embossed the Tree of Life stamp in the centre. The leaves were then coloured with watercolour pens.

I added a line of trees from the Into The Woods set, stamped in Versafine ink, darkened the edges to add focus to the centre,  then with 3D glue gel mounted the sun and sentiment to finish.

A Visible Image Style Art Journal

Good morning! It's my turn to share a little Visible Image inspiration with you all, and for this weeks project I have created a journal for playing in with all my favourite stamps.

I love the Sizzix  journal dies by Eileen Hull and used the Pocket Notebook cut from greyboard. I knew I wanted to use a inks etc on it, and so wanted to cover it with mixed media cardstock. This is best to do prior to cutting, and using double sided A4 adhesive sheets to get full and firm coverage. With both sides covered I then ran it through my Bigshot.

I used See Everything as my focal image and stamped and embossed it on the face of my journal. As I planned to use spray ink, I masked off the eye and white circles with masking fluid. Once dry I was able to go to town with my inks.

Once dry ( allow to dry naturally) , I added depth with the Two Tone stencil, in co ordinating Distress Ink., and added some background stamping for more detail.

When dry I was able to rub off the masking fluid and colour the details.

The Dreamer sentiment is from the Own It set, and I added a little quote from Brighten The World on the front too. Ont the back I added another quote from the brilliant Voices In Your Head set.

Of course I couldn't create a journal and not make a start on my signatures to go inside. Here's the first page.

And the stamps I used to create it of course!

I am really looking forward to filling this up over time - with all things Visible Image of course!

Write the Next Chapter

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that Christmas was kind to you and your new years celebrations went with a bang. I opted to spend mine quietly crafting, and came up with this quick card using stamps from Visible Image. It's a great sentiment to see in the new decade, but could also be used for someone who has been having a tough time as a show of support.

This was super easy to create, and I got so carried away in the craft zone that I forgot to take step by steps, so do forgive me, but here are the stages.

Step 1- stamp the girl in Versafine in on a 5x7" watercolour blank.
Step 2- Carefully watercolour the background around her and leave to dry.
Step 3- Stamp and heat emboss the typewriter in black and fussy cut. Add the 'You are loved ' sentiment to the paper.
Step 4- Stamp hearts around where the typewriter will sit and colour with Posca pen. Stamp main sentiment.
Step 5- Colour the main image using watercolour markers.
Step 6- adhere typewriter using 3D glue.
