A Purr-fect Mothers Day

Mothers Day is fast approaching her in the UK and when I saw the February release from Visible Image included a cat stencil and stamps putting them together on a card just had to be done.

I began by laying some Distress Oxide ink down on a craft mat and swiping through it with watercolour card to create a background. I created 2 sheets this way as wanted to make the small cats co ordinate with their mummy.

I then taped the Cats Whiskers stencil down and blended Wilted Violet Distress Ink around the outside, and Mermaid Lagoon ink on the eyes.

I then took the new Half Tone stencil, taped it down and applied Luna Paste through it, being careful to avoid the eyes.

I carefully lifted both stencils, and allowed to air dry.

Meanwhile, I used the other background sheet to stamp three small stamps from the Lovin Feline set and added some detail with the Half tone stencil.

Then I cut them out and added some shadowing and white gel pen highlights.

When the paste was dry I added some heart stamping to my mummy cat, and detailed with gel pens. I adhered her babies and added the sentiment and a flower in her hair to finish .

Happiness Matters

I am thrilled to be sharing my first project with the February release from Visible Image. I can start to feel Spring just around the corner now and I wanted to create something bright and vibrant to bring a little colour as winter comes to an end.

I started by creating an inky background.

I then took the gorgeous new Flower Ink stencil and applied a layer of ink through it.

I then added more layers using the Half Tone stencil and flowers from Happiness Matters.

Using Posca pens I coloured in the details.

I wanted to add more dimension so using coloured craft wire I shaped a squiggly flower.

I adhered this with a glue gun along with black fibres and a fussy cut flower to set in the centre.

I finished by adding a sentiment and matting on black card .

The new release is absolutely incredible and myself and my fellow design team members have been having a ball making samples so do follow along on the social media links below to see what we have all been up to and to keep up to date with all things Visible Image.
