Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

It's time for my fortnightly share for Visible Image and this week we on the DT are all feeling festive because the NEW Christmas stamps and stencils have been released and they are AMAZING!

I love to create scenes on my cards, and the Christmas Eve stencil is so perfect for this. I am afraid I got so carried away getting inky that I failed a little on the step by step photos, but I will explain my method.

I started with a piece of blank card, and used Black Soot Distress ink and the stencil to create rows of buildings. I faded them out towards the back rows to add a sense of dimension.  I then re inked rows on another piece of card, as I wanted to layer them up for more depth.

Using the cut away part of the stencil to cover the top row, I applied blue inks to the top half to create a sky. To create the moon I applied darker  ink around a die cut circle.

I then stamped the sleigh from the Christmas Eve stamp set, and added stars and embossed snowflakes. White splatters added to the snowy feel, and I used a gel pen to add highlights.

I added lights to the buildings with a paint pen, and edged the roof line with puffy snow and glitter for some added sparkle. I built up the layers with 3D glue gel and added the sentiment from the Santa Claus set, and a message inside using the Sentimental Christmas set.

I really love how the new release links so well with last years Christmas stamps. It really does mean the possibilities are endless!

Mark will be on Create and Craft TV on the 23rd September demoing the new range, so do tune in if you can. His demos are always so unique that you are bound to be inspired!
