Love Is In The Air

Valentines Day is fast approaching, so today I have a little Visible Image inspiration for you  to help you get those special cards made. I really love the dramatic look of the red against the black on this one, doesn't it just pop!

I started with a piece of 6x6 cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the fabulously inky rose from the Forever Love stamp set in the centre. I then took the Distressed Brick stencil and blended Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide through it, around the flower.

I added some script stamping ( from Sketched Tulips) randomly for an added layer.

Using a stamping platform to ensure it lined up perfectly, I created a border with the barbed wire stamp.

I then stamped the rose on some card that had been sprayed with red ink several times, and fussy cut different sections to enable me to layer and add depth.

To finish I stamped and cut some hearts and the sentiment from the Have I Told You set and layered them up with 3D glue, and added some paint splatters.

The design team have been sharing some amazing inspiration lately, including lots of ideas for Valentines cards, so do follow along on social media. There's a new release imminent too and you really will not want to miss out on this one as it is incredible! I can't wait to share some samples with them soon.

Mindful Moments

2023 has arrived and for many of us the passing of one year into the next provides us with an opportunity to pause and  reflect on what has been, and how we would like our future to look. For me, a huge part of that reflection process  involves having gratitude and appreciation for the life I have, and this has inspired my first project of the year for Visible Image.

This was a really simple card to create but using layers to create detail and depth . I first cut a pieces of 6x6" smooth card and used Distress Ink  in Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac and Salvaged Patina through the time Tunnel stencil, brushing the ink outwards from the centre.

I then took the Words of Support stencil and applied Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide thorough it, creating another layer.

I applied the distress ink to my craft mat, spritzed with water and smooshed watercolour card through it until I had a soft blend I was happy with. Once dry I stamped and cut the main image from the Mindful Moments stamp set and flowers and fussy cut. I adhered these with 3D gel to add some dimension.
The sentiment  was taken from the Affirmations set.
