Lost In Music

Today I am bringing you another card for Visible Image using the new release stamp sets Lost In Music and Lost For Words.  This is such a great image for teenage girls.

I started by colouring the stamp in with pencils, and fussy cutting.

I wanted to set her against a rainy window view, because who cares about the weather when you have cool music to listen to right? To create this  I applied alcohol ink to the back of an acetate panel, and on the front I applied Luna Paste through the Heavy Rain stencil.

Once dry I adhered a frame cut from white card over the top.

I found some patterned paper that resembled wallpaper from my stash, and stamped music notes over it before attaching the elements to it to create my scene.

To finish, I added a birthday sentiment from the new Lost for Words stamp set.

The new stamps are all available to buy now from Visible Image, and the very talented Mark will be taking them to Create and Craft TV on the 23rd March at 12.00 so set yourself a reminder to watch and be inspired by his demos.

Fearless Tiger Mixed Media Hanger

The Fearless Tiger set from Visible Image is so striking that I couldn't resist turning him into a hanging home decor piece. I am currently watching 'Zoo' on Netfix with my 15yr old daughter, and this image really reminds me of the show so is very apt for us right now.

I started with a piece of grey board that I punched holes in to hang. I applied a coat of gesso, and then used my gelli plate and the Mesh It Up stencil to create a textured backdrop for my tiger.

Once happy with the print I took the same stencil and stippled more paint through it to add another layer of interest.

I then stamped my tiger ( purely for placement so wasn't worried if it didn't stamp fully), and also added some texture with the Grunge Tones stamps.

I stamped, embossed and coloured the tiger onto card and fussy cut. I had some mdf leaves and grasses in my stash, so checked my layout and painted them in acrylic paint.

To draw the eye to the centre of the piece, I edged in gilding flakes.

You can never have enough texture of course, so I also applied some Izink Ice and Crackle gel and left to dry before adhering my elements.

Some white highlights with a gel pen really helped the tiger to pop and brought him to life.

A little sisal helped add more interest behind him, giving it a feeling that he really was prowling through the jungle.

Mark will be bring the latest release of Visible Image stamps to Create and Craft TV on the 23rd March and it promises to be an amazing show so please tune in if you can.  You can also keep up with all the latest news and products on the links below.

Nothing To Wear - Visible Image New Release

I really am loving the new release from Visible Image right now. So much so that I am blogging an extra card today as I just can't stop playing with them!

The set I am featuring today is called Nothing to Wear. Well, with this versatile T shirt, there's a whole wardrobe full of options! The T Shirt stamp itself is blank, so imagine the possibilities for filling it. Perfect for male and female cards and works with all your smaller stamps. It also comes with some very cool stamps of it's own which are perfect to make backgrounds as well as stamping on the top itself. Fabulously versatile!

I started this card with a gelli print that I had previously made using the Count Me In stencil.

I stamped and embossed over it with the new Grunge Tones stamp set, also from this release.

I added another layer for more texture and interest, spreading Izink Ice through the Square Route stencil.

As it dries opaque it doesn't cover up the detail, which makes it a great medium for adding depth to a project.

I stamped the t shirt onto a piece of card that I have previously painted wavy lines on using a splatter brush and fussy cut it, and stamped and embossed some stars to layer over the background.  The sentiment is from the new Lost For Words set.

The new collection is available to pre order now over on the Visible Image website. Also, set yourself a reminder as Mark will be taking them to Create and Craft TV on 23rd of March, and will have some amazing demos for you, and of course all the samples made by myself and my talented team mates. Hope you can watch.

Lost In Music- Visible Image New Release

Today's design team inspiration for Visible Image features the brand new Lost In Music stamp set. It's such a perfect image for music loving teenage girls and a really useful one to have in the stash.

This was a simple card to create. I first stamped the image onto super smooth card in Memento Ink, and also created a mask, which I placed over the top to keep the image clean while I created the background.

I blended distress oxide inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac and Speckled Egg, to create a dreamy feel.

I then stamped over the top, also in oxides, using the new Grunge Tones stamps and the music notes from the Lost In Music set.

To finish I coloured the young lady using copic markers, giving her some funky pink hair, and stamped and mounted the sentiment.

Refuse Normal - Visible Image NEW Release!!

Have you seen the new Visible Image release yet. It is, as always, absolutely fabulous and very unique. I think this stamp set, Refuse Normal, that  I am showcasing today is my favourite. She is so much fun and reminds me of the era I grew up in. I was too young to be influenced by the punk scene myself , but my older sister most definitely wasn't and this image really reminds me of her back then!

I wanted to reflect the current challenging times with this card, and make something fun that could be sent to a friend as a cheer up gift. The hair on this stunning girl just screamed 'rainbow' at me of course! I coloured her in with Copic markers, and fussy cut before making my background.

Distress Oxides on black card look really striking through a stencil, and the Ripped Fishnet was the perfect one to use for this.  I simply lay the stencil down and spritzed lightly, lifted carefully and heat dried.  I did this twice as I knew I would need an extra strip to create my lollipop holder.

I then stamped and heat embossed the new Grunge Tones stamps over the top.  I measured my lollipop stick, and cut a strip of card a little longer, scored twice at each end to create a pop up stand and pierced holes in it, and using a craft knife I cut slits in the base card, popped each end through and adhered to the back with tape.

To add even more layering and colour I splattered acrylic ink in bright tones over the top before mat and layering it onto a card and placing my lolly licking punk on.

The sentiment is also from a new set, called Lost For Words.

To finish I added some bright plastic dots to compliment that rainbow hair.
