Preparing For The Coronation

It's not long now until we will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles here in the UK, so maybe it's time to get crafting some decorations and street party invitations and Visible Image have the perfect stencil and stamps for the occasion.

I started this card with the Grungy Union Jack stencil. I masked off the various sections as I brushed Distress Oxide ink through it to create my flag backdrop.

Doesn't it look stunning and so crisp on white card!

I added the scenic stamp from The Right Direction stamp set across the bottom to give it that added London feel.

Next I stamped, coloured and die cut the champagne bottle from Anyone For Bubbles?

I added the bubbles stamp where the top of the bottle would sit, and added some glossy accents over the top for more dimension before mounting the bottle on foam tape.

The Lost For Words stamp set has the perfect sentiment, and for a touch of added interest to my royal theme I added the small crown from the Queen Of Hearts stamp set from the Wonderland collection and sat that on top to finish my card.

I am so looking forward to the celebrations in May. I know some of the design team are busy creating more inspiration using the fabulous Grunge Union Jack stencil too so why not follow along on the social media links below to see what they make and to keep up to date with all the Visible Image news. We love to see what you are creating too so don't forget to share in the Facebook fan group.

Forever In Your Heart

I love to make cards for all occasions, but some cards are definitely harder than others and I think most crafters, like me, struggle with creating sympathy cards. The new release from Visible Image has definitely made that task a little easier though with its Forever In Your Heart stamp set. Feathers are so symbolic to so many people and this one is a beauty.

To create this card I started with an inky background in blues, using Distress Ink. I then took the eagle mask from the Time Flies stencil and blended ink around it to create my bird in flight.

I stamped the background stamp included in the set around it in grey.

I removed some of the ink using a water brush and dabbing with tissue.

I then filled in the hearts with a white Posca pen.

To add more dimension I filled the circles with Glossy accents and set aside to dry.

Using patterned velum I stamped and embossed the feather in white and bent it in the middle to shape it.

When the Glossy Accents was dry I assembled the card and added the With Sympathy sentiment, which I embossed in silver for a subtle look.

The March release is absolutely stunning and the design team have all been working hard to bring some incredible Inspiration so do check out the links below to see what we have all been up to and to share your creations.

Don't Make Me Release The Flying Monkeys

Todays post for Visible Image features one of the fabulous stamps from the Oz collection, Flying Monkey.  I don't know about you but to me the story The Wizard of Oz holds so many fond childhood memories and is absolutely timeless. I just love it!

I started with an inky background in blues from my stash that was created with Dylusions spray ink.

I placed a plastic mask on the lighter section, and used Prize Ribbon Distress Ink around it to add depth of colour and create a moon.

No eerie scene is complete without branches sweeping across it of course, and the tree from Into The Woods was perfect.

Here I must confess, that I got so engrossed in creating that I neglectd to take more step photos, but I think my description should give you the idea!

I stamped the monkey and his pals, die cut and coloured with alcohol markers. I stamped the bricks in the bottom corner in blue, and heat embossed some silver stars from the Feel The Beat stamp set around the sky. I finished by adding some white gel pen highlights to the tree and mounting the die cut images on with foam pads.
