Antisocial Butterfly Tag - Visible Image New Release

Today I am sharing a mixed media tag using the fantastic new release from Visible Image.  The Antisocial Butterfly stamp set will resonate with those who feel anxious in social situations and tend to shy away from them, but can also obviously be used as a gorgeous butterfly for any occasion.

I started by creating some texture and applying modelling paste through the A to Z stencil.

Once that had air dried, I applied Distress and Dylusions sprays to give it a fabulously grungy look.

While the spray in dried I stamped and cut my butterflies and sentiment.

I then stamped some of the text from the main image in the set to add another layer of interest before heat embossing some Frantage enamel over it.

I finished by mounting the butterflies on top of some black textured thread and splattering some fluid acrylic paint over the top to pull it all together.

Branch Out - Visible Image New Release

It's new release time over at Visible Image and I am delighted to be sharing this autumnal project using the versatile Branch Out stencil. Autumn is my favourite season and at this time of year I naturally seem to  gravitate towards rich reds and golds in my crafting projects. I just love the different tones that this time of year brings. It's so inspirational.

To create this card I began with a spray ink background. I stencilled the tree in Distress Ink.

I wanted a little more texture to this so I added a layer of Izink Ice through the stencil as well.

I then inked some leaves through the stencil amid the branches and along the base of the card in Distress Ink.

I used a die cut circle mask to create a sun in the corner, holding the circle in place and inking around the outer edge.

Once happy with my scene, I added more texture by going through the leaf part of the stencil in various colours of Izink Ice, creating layers and depth to my tree. I addded the birds flying across the sun, and in the corner popped some fungi from the Totally Toadstools set.  The sentiment is from the new Better Days Ahead set.

On A Bad Day There's Always Lipstick!

It feels like it's been quite a while since I have shared a project here on the blog for Visible Image, but I am back now after a much needed Summer break, and am all fired up ready for a creative Autumn!

Today's card is one for the girls who love a bit of lippy and showcases a stamp set with real attitude- Dare to Be Different. Such a cool set!

I started by blending some Distress oxide in Spun Sugar and Saltwater Taffy on smooth card stock. Then I lay the Ripped Fishnet stencil over and re inked to create my background.

I stamped the lips in Versafine Clair ink directly on to the background. I also stamped it on white card and embossed Distress Glaze over it before fussy cutting. I also added some glitter gel to really make those lips pop!

I stamped and embossed the lipstick using pink and black ink and embossing with a clear powder.

I added more detail stamping to the background also using the oh so useful Mesh-ellaneous stamp set. This one is so handy to have for adding some texture stamping to your projects.

I outlined the lips and lipstick with a water soluble pencil. and blended it out with a waterbrush to form a little shading, before adhering the main images to the base with 3d glue gel.

No card is complete without a sentiment inside of course, and Visible Image's Go To Words set was perfect for this.

I finished by adding the sentiment and some sparkly gems.
