I have been busy working on some scrapbooking lately, documenting previous generations of my family in an album for future generations to look back on. It's a big task, but I am chipping away at it and my DT project for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge blog has enabled me to get another page done, using elements from our wonderful sponsor Scrapmatts.
The rather elegant lady featuring on this page is my grandmother. She is framed with a chipboard frame from Scrapmatts, which I painted and then added gilding wax to. I distressed my my backing paper with walnut stain distress ink before adding adhesive fabric, a stamped doily, and various laces to create layers and a vintage feel. I finished off with a mixture of pre an hand made flowers ( created from old wallpaper samples) , nuvo drops, some metal embellishments and a little Scrapmatts wooden tile that says 'family'.
I hope that my Gran and I have inspired you to join our challenge this month. Anything goes as long as it's mixed media so lots of scope to get creative! I look forward to seeing your projects. And don't forget to click across to the blog to see what my team mates have been making too. Their projects are all amazing!
